Dr. Nagham Nawzat Hassan Discusses Yazidi Situation with French Delegation

12/05/2023 - Dr. Nagham Nawzat Hassan, the Executive Director of the Hope Makers Organization for Woman (HMOW), met with Mrs. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, and her accompanying delegation to address critical issues concerning the Yazidi community. The meeting focused on the current situation of the Yazidis, particularly survivors living in displacement camps, and the ongoing challenges they face. Dr. Hassan highlighted the need for comprehensive support and assistance for these survivors, emphasizing the importance of continued international aid.

Additionally, the conversation included a discussion on the alarming rise of hate speech directed at the Yazidi community by extremist groups. Mrs. Hidalgo reaffirmed France’s commitment to supporting minorities, particularly the Yazidis, and stressed that the French government would remain steadfast in its efforts to combat discrimination and promote the rights of marginalized groups.
